I'm looking for partners too. I plan on averaging 12-16 miles per day, which would put us on a similar pace. I have a month off of work, so my schedule is flexible. I definitely intend on taking at least 2 zero days. This will be my longest trek to date, so I'm leaving myself some wiggle room as far as scheduling mileage. The anticipation is killing me!
Hello Josh,
I look forward to hearing a little bit more about your trip. Sounds like we have similar plans for pace. Shoot me an email and we can talk logistics:)

Hi Julia-
How is the planning for hiking the JMT coming along? I've been giving the JMT some serious thought as well and potentially would be interested. I'm still trying to narrow down various options for a trip this summer but the JMT keeps emerging as a favorite!

I am planning the JMT for the end of July early August as well. It would be great to have some hiking partner’s. I only have so much vacation time and may need to cover more miles. What are your plans?
Hi Roger:
I was thinking about 15 miles a day on average. How about you?

Hi Kate,
Well stage one is complete. I received my reservation starting on August 2nd at Happy Isles TH with the first night in little Yosemite.
Stage 2. My initial planning is 13 to 14 days averaging about 17 to 18 miles per day. I can already see that I will regret not taking more days. Unfortunately I only have so many days of vacation.
Stage 3. I am starting to gear plan and have some concerns about water sources on the trail, it’s starting to look like a very dry year.
Stage 4. I have started training with 3 to 4 days at the gym working on both strength and cardio; Its great to have this trip as motivation.
That’s about it for now. How about you, any more thoughts on what you might have planned? Would this trip work for you?
