I find myself traversing lots of scree on hills and it's a super pain to have to take off my teva trailrunners all the time to get the pebbles out. Can someone recommend some gaiters that work well?

Sure. I recommend REI Mistral Gaiters. They’re super stretchy, water resistant, breathable, and very durable. I wear mine at all times when hiking.
