I saw this fabric over it DIY gear supply online store, it was on sale and i also got 10% off, so figured why not get a few yards of the green since it looks like a somewhat interesting fabric. I did a search on this here, and didn't find a single hit, which i was slightly surprised by.

Not a single person has ever used it for anything? It's a bit heavy at 2.7 oz/yd2, but it seems boomproof, super durable, and seems to have a decent balance between good water resistance and breathability.

Surgical gown materials have come up here a number of times.
Might be a good selection for a medium light pack for someone who uses a pack cover or inner and is not looking for WP material. Even with the 1% carbon fiber content, though, the polyester would probably be less durable than silcoated nylon balloon cloth that is 2.5 times more water resistant and around the same weight. There is also D-P TX2 that is lighter and even more water resistant, but I'm going to do some tests to see how it holds stitching before using it for a pack, as my experience with some slightly heavier D-P laminates is that they open up at the stitch holes. I'd also like to put it in the washer for a few cycles to see how the WP holds up.

Interesting Samuel. Wasn't thinking packs (though i could see the application), more like patches on high wear areas of clothes, like knees of pants, elbows, etc. Maybe gaiters or the like as well.
