…I think BPL community is already pretty tuned into that fact, but I was in the Boulder store the other day just geeking out on their clothing line, genuinely impressed.
What I like:
–Their cloths fit. The jackets are well tailored unlike a lot of the american brands that seem to think adding arms, a neck hole and a zipper to a bag makes a jacket (sorry). Cloths that fit work better because they move with you and they are more thermally efficient. As a side benefit, they also look better.
–They've got close to the lightest thing available in each category, but also make some excellent more durable options
–affordable. And their outlet stuff is even more so.
In particular, the mirage is an insanely nice jacket. A fully baffled 13oz jacket with 5 + oz of down, helmet compatable hood and a real zipper. Nothing else like it.

Another nice piece is the newish tachyon jacket. Its 1.6 oz and has breathable panels under the zips, which makes it a good additive layer for fast moving cold weather stuff. If you're only going to own one windshirt, a should probably be a hooded one, but I definitely think their is a place for something like this, esp at 1.6 oz. For fast moving stuff I'd rather not have a hood.

Versalite Rain pants–I bought these before venturing out for a 7 and a 4 day pack-rafting trips in Utah last month, and they were great. I haven't carried rain pants in a long time, but you can't argue with 3.5 oz per pair. A great compliment to running shorts for summer trips.

Anyway, I've basically just volunteered my free expression to become a temporary montbell marketing-bot, but I like to give credit when I see really great design. So, there's that. '
