So I have an Ozark Trail Junior Dome tent, which has a very small rainfly that only functions to keep rain out of the mesh panels up top. The fabric is barely even water resistant. The tent does really poorly in the rain, so I'm wondering what the best rain fly solution might be. I don't always use it where I can just pitch a tarp over the tent on trees. Would it be easy to turn a tarp into a rain fly and still keep its tarp functionality? How could I make a tarp able to be staked out over the tent easily without a tree or stick?
