i have some black diamond flick lock corks.
just started experimenting with a bpwd lair – and its recommending the
130cm pitch height.

scoured the web for an explanation on how the cm measurement marks on these
3-section poles works… and found nothing.

ex::
bottom section at 120cm, top section at 120cm = 120cm?
or
bottom section at 110cm, top section at 110cm = 120cm?

and then

bottom section at 110cm, top section at 130cm = 140cm?
or
bottom section at 110cm, top section at 130cm = 120cm?

looking for a straight answer on how these marks work. could simply pull out a tape measure and
do my own experimentation, but found it weird there seemingly wasn't any info on the web.
(maybe i'm a bad googler, and maybe this will help help the next inquirer.)

130+130 is about 130cm (top of handle to carbide tip)
here it is :
130cm at 130cm

so if you want 110cm the easiest way is to set both section at 110.
you can set the top at 130 and the bottom at 100 to get about 110 too..
or the top at 120 and the bottom at 105…
There is another way and that is what I do.
my elbow height is 115cm and that is my standard pole height,
So if I set up a shelter that needs 120cm I start at the 115 and add 5cm and so on
( an important reason why I do that is because those figures have almost disappeared from my poles)

If a visual estimation is not your thing, then when you change one section only you divide that difference by two.
So both sections at 130cm you have 130cm. One at 130 and the other at 120 you have 125cm.

thanks franco. when i run out of things to mod — my mind wanders.
thanks for busting out the tape measure, and explaining something
that isn't totally scientific.
