Nellie the weather lady at NECN says that coming up along the Atlantic coast now is a nasty rain storm, with 40-60 mph winds, that will last a day or so, with the temp just above freezing.

A good time, I think, to put the UL tent* in the least protected part of the back yard and see how it fares. Plan to use six medium weight Ti shepherd hook stakes if the ground hasn't become too frozen – otherwise pound in ALU tube stakes.

Would hate to see it demolished, but better here than on the great divide.

Thanks, Ed. Was waiting to post the link with test result, but you saved me the time.
The tent is up and waiting, and no idea which way the giant old oak tree might fall.

Was thinking if the blow/deluge doesn't arrive by tomorrow morning, might set up a Moment right next to it, with guys front and back on the hoop of course.

The Ti shepherd hooks went right in, but if the aluminum tube stakes that came with the Moment are used on it, it would only be fair to restake the Goondie the same way.

Or could the weather report be wrong yet again? It was supposed to be raining by now.

Alas, the weather report turned out to be wrong. Put the tent up Tuesday afternoon before Thanksgiving, got plenty of rain, but by Thursday afternoon the sun was out, and still no winds approaching the predicted 40-60 mph. So packed up the tent and sorrowfully returned it to storage. It was bone dry, though. Sorry for the fizzle.
