I wonder why it is that no one except this one company makes wide brim rain hats out of eVent? I’ve been looking for one for ages. I would think it would be an ideal material for a hat, since it breathes so well (one reason I just can’t use my Tilly LT5 is because here in humid Japan my head always ends up sweating too much), and yet not even OR makes such a hat. Three years ago there was a briefly run page sporting an proposed eVent hat that looked very much like the OR Seattle Sombrero from British company OutdoorDesigns, but for some reason it never materialized. So the only thing I’ve found since then is the Watership Trading Company hats which look mighty dorky to me, especially the colors. I’d make the hat myself, but have no access to eVent.
Anyone know of anything?

P.S. I think the OutdoorDesigns Aquamap is really cool! Just the right size for carrying around your neck.
P.P.S. Also, wouldn’t it be great if someone made an eVent cagoule similar to the Tatonka Cape (it’s not eVent)?:
Seems like it would make a superb all-around rain garment that would work very well for bivouacs.
