I read somewhere (i thin on this forum) that rab's hydrophobic down seems to make a less lofty jacket than before. I was wondering if there was any truth to this…otherwise I might be in the market for this jacket!
Not sure about that, but 10oz of European rated 800FP down is a lot of down. The state of the market report for down jackets or the one of the other articles on down/loft showed that just loft measurements were not the be all end all. A less loftier, but more down packed jacket, would be as warm
If I had the $$ to spare, I would have snatched this up in a heartbeat.
It's gone now, right.after I just convinced myself that I should grab it! Maybe next time lol.
