I couldn't play the video on prolites site but it looks like they made some improvements to the scout like a beak or vestibule and screen on the door

It’s not a shelter that interests me, but definitely looks like they’ve made some necessary changes. Here’s the video sneak peak by Prolite Gear. As a side note, I’m really grateful for the videos that Prolite has been posting.

Its not a big interest to me either but I was quite critical of the first model and I see alot of improvement in this new model. Sometimes I wonder if the designers actually use the stuff they build. And yeah +1 prolite I've been happy buying from them, when I had a problem with a purchase they took care of it, didn't pass the buck or give me the song and dance just apologized and took care of me and was more than fair.

The improvements look promising. I don't think I'll be leaving my SMD Trekker for one of these, but BA is making significant progress with these.

I had purchased a Scout UL2 last year but never got around to using it. When they announced the Scout Plus UL2, I returned the original and picked up the Plus. I recently took it on a six day trip in the Grand Canyon (Down Tanner and up BA) and the tent performed really well. I had swapped out the guylines and most of the steaks with lighter options and, according to my scale (and including a slightly trimmed footprint from a BA Copper Spur UL2) the total weight for everything was 2 lb. 5 oz. It packs small and I really liked not having to pack tent poles. No really issues with condensation other than an extremely rainy night. That was probably my fault, though, because I completely closed the vestibule (which is really good sized, by the way). Here is a shot of the tent set up in camp at Tanner Beach.

Did you set the rear pole inside or outside? I heard the new versions were set up for both options.

I set it up with both poles outside. It's really easy to set up and I like it because I set it up in the rain and the inside stayed dry.
