Missing Articles on Home Page

I still see them, too. Adblock would make them invisible, but from your last sentence I guess you're not using it.

You're correct – it was Adblock, doing what Adblock is supposed to do..

I changed the settings to allow pop-ups from BPL and all is now back to normal.

"Ads on or off" referred to the use of the BPL option for Life Members to turn ads on or off.

Detailed instructions would be appreciated by many readers if you can get the main picture but not the ads.

Just allowing pop-ups in Firefox does not work.
Disabling AdBlock for the BPL web site is pretty horrible: the ads are usually not relevant at all.

As an MLIFER, I'd think the easiest way to see the home page pics but not the ads is to completely allow ads for BPL from adblock, but turn off ads on the BPL site itself.

My browser is IE10 rather than Firefox.

I changed the Adblock settings to allow pop-ups from BPL. For some reason that defies logic, those Home page images are considered pop-ups by Adblock while similar things on other websites, like Yahoo and MSN.com, which change far more frequently that do those on BPL, are not.

I changed the settings in MY BPL to Hide Ads.

I now see the Home page as normal (with images) but none on the ads.

For Adblock & Firefox to allow you to see the articles on the homepage –

Go to the BPL Homepage
Open AdBlock
Click "disable on this page only"
Done

You can see the articles on the homepage, but all ads are still blocked for the rest of BPL. Hope this helps.
