This is what I did to my squeeze after I got my new mini.
It's a soda cap with a hole drilled in the center held on with a threaded quick connect.
Can be used if you have a hydration system with a quick connect or set up as a gravity filter without the tornado tube. Been using it now for a month and works great. Oh ya back flushing is a breeze nothing extra to carry.
Got a PM asking for better pics and description on how it was assembled. So here you go! If you twist really hard the little weld will break loose and it will unscrew.
Now you can cut off the male threading and nipple on the sawyers top and drill the hole for the quick connect. Drill a hole in your soda bottle cap. Now screw the quick connect through the soda cap and top of the filter. finish off by putting a nut on quick connect on the inside of the filter and tighten up. I used a brass nut so as not to corrode. 
this is just to show the quick connect in action.
