I've had plans in my head for decades to build a double side entry 2 person tent with a T shaped pole. Still haven't done it but, for discussion sake, I mocked one up in the photos below using the fly from an REI tent:

The set-up shown is quite stable with 4 corner pegs and even more stable when the two vestibules are staked out. The T shaped pole has some advantages/disadvantes over a more traditional U shaped pole for a two person double side entry tent.
Advantages
(1) Both entrances are pole free for ease of access.
(2) A single trekking pole can be used as a center pole.
(3) A single center pole instead of two side poles saves about 3-4 feet of pole, depending on height of tent.
Disadvantages
(1) There is a pole in the center of the shelter.
(2) Probably not as strong as a U shaped pole with two vertical members.
