A while back I bought my first dehydrator, a Stöckli. The model I have is the less expensive L0071.01 without a timer. I only paid 35.00 dollars for it plus shipping, on sale at
I have dried fruit with it, mainly apples and bananas, squashes, green beans and some beef. It was much faster than I had expected. I cannot compare it with other dehydrators since it's the only one I have ever had as an adult.
The dehydrator comes with 3 stackable trays and one can buy special inserts for "wet" fruit.
I checked the store and they still have a few available at 34.95.
Having a timer on it would be nice, but this machine seems very well built and worth the money.
