I have the ti goat poles, probably an older version, had them for about 4 years. The metal screw/rubber expander part that locks the poles in place has become stuck in inside top of the top portion of the pole. I opened the cap that covers the screw and am trying to remove the flat head screw but no matter how much i turn the flat head screw, it does not loosen. The same is true for both poles. How can i get this piece out? It wont budge. It became stuck when a slight crack developed near the end of the portion of the pole that slides INSIDE the larger diameter pole. This crack allowed the expander and metal screw part to come out of the thinner diamter pole and become lodged in the thicker diameter pole. Help please. All im accomplishing is ruining the flat head screw.

Clarification Needed –

The expander and screw are lodged near the handle of the top section, and the bottom section is no longer attached or even in the top section?

And the screw seems to be frozen in the expander? (It does not turn.)

The pole is seperated into two parts. The lower potion that contacts the ground and contains the expander is missing the expander and burgundy screw thing with the washers on it. The exapander and burgundy screw piece are stuck in the top portion of the pole(the one with the grip) and they are stuck near the very top of this portion of the pole. I attempted to remove the strap by removing the screw and peer down into the hole, possibly poking and knocking the expander/burgundy screw device down out of the tube so i can install it into the lower potion of the pole as it is supposed to be. But i cannot remove the strap, i turn the screw counter clockwise to remove it, but it just turns and the pressure never lightens up, it remains tight. I turned it probably 25 full rotations but it has not risen even a mm. Here i am referring to the screw located under the black cap on the top of the pole.

can it be pushed out the top from the bottom, using a dowel or piece of tubing, or lower section? Just insert from bottom and push down hard on floor? possibly squirt a bit of oil in there to lube things up.

It cannot be pushed out from the top because the strap cannot be removed, when i try to remove the screw that holds the strap down, nothing happens, the tension remains the same no matter how much i try to unscrew it and the screw does not rise out of the grip.

From your first post –
"I opened the cap that covers the screw and am trying to remove the flat head screw but no matter how much i turn the flat head screw, it does not loosen."

"All im accomplishing is ruining the flat head screw."

So you are just attempting (so far) to remove the screw and anchor that are holding the strap in place? Right?

And if successful, you will then deal with the stuck expander used to adjust pole length. Right?

If so,

IIR, the strap anchor is an expander just like the length adjustment unit. There is a threaded fitting in the "rubber" body that the screw threads into. The fitting is probably now spinning free, with the "body" scrunched up in "locked" mode.

My only thought is to fill the handle end in something that will dissolve the bond between the anchor expander and the carbon fiber tube. NOT a solvent, but perhaps just water and detergent. Perhaps form a duct tape dam around the handle, fill it, and let it run down around the side of the expander. If you are willing to cut the strap grommet away that might allow you to grip the screw head to move it up and down, side to side, a bit, helping break the expander/CF bond, and then wiggle the expander out. If you pull to hard, you will be "tightening" the expander, so gentle is best.

Another option is to cut off the top (measure from the bottom so you know where to cut) and install a new grip. It's not hard to do.

will try the jb weld method, hope i can get the expander/screw contraction back into the bottom pole, it may be tilted to an angle inside the top pole.
