Cocoon Pro 90 Quilt for 2 people

They have a relatively narrow footbox that wouldn't (comfortably) fit 2 people, These don't open up like a rectangular quilt.

I don't have the 90, but received the 180 yesterday. I'm impressed so far (haven't had a chacne to use it yet though) but it's a bit narrow. I think the 90 may be a little wider as it can be used as on overquilt, but I doubt that it's wide enough for 2 people. Nunatak and Jacks R Better both have 2 person quilt options available. If you're not opposed to sewing your own gear, the Ray Way 2 person quilt is a fairly easy (though time consuming) project. I was thrilled with how mine came out and my finace and I both found it comfortable. The Ray way kit also gives you the option of a zipper that runs horizontally through the bag at the mid point so you can each carry a portion of the quilt. Sadly, it weighs more than the 14 oz Pro 90 quilt. :(

What do people think of the Pro 180 Quilt as an overquilt with a light down bag?
I'm thinking of getting one for wet trips and the winter with a belay jacket and puffy pants.

I was thinking of doing the same thing myself.

Currently I am thinking with my Subkilo down bag, the Cocoon 90 quilt, Patagonia Das Parka and a pair of Wild Things EP pants I could get down to some pretty cold temps. My only concern is how much the clothing will compress the insulation in the down bag, so I will have to work some tests to see.

Width or girth is an issue for quilts as an overbag. The Jacks'R'Better No Sniveller is 48" wide and works great as a quilt for me, but is not wide enough to work as an overquilt.
