Many running-style watches come built in with an interval timer mode. I have a Timex Ironman that has a chronograph, timer, interval timer, and three alarms. I also like the band which is a non-porous plastic material that is well-ventilated and durable (tough, little sweat, no stink). Check it out here:

Who cares about the weight of the watch? It won't show up in either base or pack weight — but only in "clothing worn and stuff in pockets" weight and "total skin out" weight!

Kidding aside, I own a similar watch — the Timex Ironman 30. I believe the weight of both models are about the same. Both types come in two choices of face size — full and mid. The mid (1.25") weighs exactly 1 oz. I suspect the full size version weighs around 1.5 oz.
