Can you do the kit with the ramjet UL stove instead?
How long do you need to ship?

Thank,
Bruce

Yes, I can do the kit with the Ramjet UL stove instead. It's a powerhouse and will boil two cups of 70* F water in about five minutes using less than 20 ml of fuel. It also comes with a larger 16 oz cup/caddy. The bigger stove and cup add about .9 oz to the weight.

For an extra $5 I will also include a titanium Esbit burner and two stakes so you can burn Esbits too.

For another $10 I will include a stainless steel windscreen, so you can also burn wood.

I can ship immediately.

Free shipping, to us here in OZ, surely not? ;) I'd be happy that you'd ship here at all.

I'd certainly like a kit, with the UL / Stainless steel woodburning upgrade (no need for esbit however), what's the price to send it all down here?

Let me find out what shipping would cost. Is there a postal code I should have?

Davids kit arrived and has better than expected quality of construction. Of course I fired it up right away and it performed flawlessly. I love MYOG, but I spent more than this in Walmart raw materials with far less to show for it after hours of tinkering.

Hats off to David at Gold Gear!

The set just arrived and looking through it, it is just fantastic. Wish I'd seen this before I'd bought all my high tech gear as it seems like it makes a good compromise by improving weight/size/functionality/versatility/cost at the expense of durability – but since I'm careful, I think that's an ideal tradeoff!

I'll update here when I've had a chance to use it in-field.

PS: My dad is an engineer who always delights in finding mechanical faults in things, and was impressed by the design choices and quality of construction.

David,
Great cookset you designed in the GOLD Gear Trekker. Works like a champ, and I appreciated the great customer service and high quality workmanship.

Thanks again!!

I got my set a few weeks ago, but didn't get a chance to try it out till yesterday! I got all the extras too, such as the esbit burner. Esbit burns fast, and I had a cup of water boiling within two minutes (in 20F weather!). My folks used sterno and esbit stoves when camping, but I'd forgotten all about it (seems like the retail market has too, and esbit's hard to find).
I also got the steel shield for wood burning, but haven't tried that out yet.
Very happy about how everything fits together. This kit will accompany us on our winter camping trip.
