Have you used one before? How similar is it to the r1? I have a T2 and really like it.

i have the old T3 which im told is more similar to the vega than the new T3 which has a bit thinner fabric

this was a few years ago when it was in fairly decent condition …

this is after a few years of basically daily use, much of it climbing in abrasive situations … it just wont die … the holes dont affect the usuability

the fit should be fairly similar to the T2, perhaps a tad looser … the material is heavier than the T2, and get the full zip hoody …

as to the R1, its basically the same as the old ones for all practical purposes, i havent looked the new R1s in depth yet … one thing the T3/vega doesnt have is an offset zipper if that matters … oh and it doesnt have thumbloops for the mens version but does for the womens version (figure that out!!!)

I wouldn't particularly want to lead the effort, but I'd definitely split shipping.

Picked one up today

The sizing is a tad bigger than the t2/3

So a small vega mens is roughly a medium t2/3

how is the length on these? The R1 looks longer. Why the huge price difference between this and the R1?

I'm in. Has anyone volunteered to organize this yet? How much is shipping individually? I get an error screen when I try to check out/estimate shipping.

mine weights 370g in a small as a heads up … and as said previously the small fits like a T2/3 medium

the powerdry on it is decently thicker than the T3 … it is equivalent to a powerstretch or 100 wt fleece hoody ,,,

this is a winter/wet weather mid layer piece … if you are planning to use something outside of winter/wet weather or as a base layer, get the T2/3

I got the hoody. My scale is pretty accurate so it wouldn't be off by that much. I did notice the red one I tried on fit slightly looser, especially in the hood so I went with a blue one.

My weight is very close to MEC's stated weight of 345g.

mec also lists a weight of 344 for the zip neck =P

im pretty sure my scale is accurate as i measure climbing biners on it … and those tend to be very accurate in manufacturers weigh …

just goes to show you that worrying about an a few grams here and there will get you nowhere …

as a recent thread has shown even some cottage manufacturers have variations in the weight of items

;)

Yeah, I've checked the weight accuracy using pennies, etc, and it's accurate.
I did think that it was weird that the hoodless one was listed as the same weight.

Definitely differences between garment to garment, which is acceptable. The hood on the last small red hoody I tried was definitely looser on my noggin so I went with the blue one which fit better. I figure a few grams-oz of mass produced products is reasonable.

I have a stoic Hadron anorak, and everybody else on the old Hadron thread had their small size come in at ~6.9 but mine comes in at a solid 7.5oz, I like to think I got an extra .5oz of down, as the hood is ridiculously puffy, which is nice :op
