That's a big calving event!
At about 2:05 it looks like a whale surfaces from the water.
Watch the whole movie on netflix; it is amazing.
That sequence was amazing. I was disappointed with the film overall, though. I was expecting the bulk of it to be about the ice, not the trials and tribulations of the filmmaker.
I just tripped over the video on Wimp.com but it's a clip from Chasing Ice? I'll watch it this weekend either way.
I've always wanted to see an avalance from a safe distance but to be able to witness this ice calving would have been out of this world.

I just finished watching Chasing Ice. Fantastic movie and thanks for the recommendation.
Didn't really learn anything about global warming that I didn't already know but it was sad (yet fascinating) to see how fast we are losing some of these glaciers.
