Today an NPR radio articel said that several fruit (yes) extracts have shown to affect biting insects' sensors in the same way DEET does.
Strawberry was one of the fruits mentioned. So "Strawberry Fields Foever" may be just around the scientific research corner.
P.S. The final product may be a few years off according to the article.
And the bear drools and thinks, "Hmmm. Strawberry…"
Strawberries? There goes stealth camping for those that do that sorta thing.
