Hey guys, recently bought these extremely nice shoes, and so far so good going up a few of our english mountains.

Planning to do the Pyrennean High Route in them, a route threw the french/spanish pyrenees which from what Ive heard involves a lot of rought terrain (boulder fields, big scree slopes etc)

The route will be approximately 650 miles once Ive done a few variations.

So my question is: to all montrail hardrock users, how have you found the durability, loss of cushioning, sole wear etc over time? How many miles do you get out of a pair? Any thoughts on strategies to make them last the mileage?

On a footnote who knows what shoes where used on the Artic 1000 trek?

Thanks

Pretty sure Ryan used a pair of Montrail Vitesse's for the Artic trip.

Last December I replaced my hardrocks with a pair of vitesses and I think either one would do the trick. For each I replaced the insoles with heat moldable insoles which lasted very well. Not sure how many miles I put on the Hardrocks but I used them as my everyday running shoe (on average putting in 25 miles a week) for a year and a half (4 season) as well as my sole hiking shoe. When I got rid of them the outside was still intact and the sole had some more life in it but the cushioning was no longer enough for me. I re-enforced every seam on the shoe with McNett seam grip which worked wonderfully.
