I was in Feathered Friends the other day and they have a new fabric which is very interesting. It is made by Scholler and is a 1 oz/sq/yd material with that they claim is more water resistant than Epic. The person I talked two said that it works based on a surface finish that is microscopically very rough, "peaks and valleys." He also said that it was slightly less breathable than Epic.
It seems to be called Nano.
It seems to me that the uses for this new fabric could be legion light single wall shelters come to mind, as do bivy sacks and shell clothing. The sleeping bags and jackets made with this stuff were pretty sexy. Does anyone else have more info on this fabric?
