I'm looking for somewhere to backpack, near Lakewood, Wi. Looking on Google maps, I see several "natural areas". Looking for something 20-30 miles. Does anybody have any experience with anywhere near there? Thanks in advance.

Maybe go to North Central WI, on the NCT to see the Penokee Hills. If the planned strip mine goes forward, it may the last chance.
