Just FYI, backcountry changed their beautiful lifetime warranty.
" You can return your new purchase at anytime after purchase
Products must be in the condition you received them in and the original box and/or packaging
We do accept used gear – as long as it is received within 90 days of purchase date – and we will issue a credit for full purchase price"

I don't blame them for the policy change though.

I think this is likely fall-out from the REI return policy changes.

Nooooooooo! REI tore open the floodgates.
As Lee said, goodbye awesome Backcountry returned items on GearTrade. I love the deals they have and free shipping.
MEC's policy is still very good.
