So i'm looking at some new hiking shoes. I have looked at both Sauconys Xodus 4.0 and the New Balance Leadville 1210.
I am currently wearing the new balance 910. Anybody use any of these shoes i would love some feed back.
Thanks Tom

Gosh… where to start…..
Over the last 2-3 months I have been buying and returning shoes like crazy.
Two or three different types of NB shoes including 2 different sizes of 1210s.While they're supposed to cut wide I realized I have hobbit feet because I had to go up to the next width on an already "wide" shoe.
Let me state that I do have hobbit feet! Size 7 xx wide, high arch and a narrow heel. I also trail run and hike, preferably in the same shoe.

Pros: Cushy,protective

Cons: Design wise- and this may have to do with my high arch,in order to have the top of my foot feel comfortable I can't pull super tight onto that area with the laces which results in the heel feeling loose.Yes I tried a half dozen different lace variations.
On trail,my feet feels (like when you have to thick of glove on and you need to pick up something very small.)overwhelmed! If you are just hiking maybe not a big deal but I run trails and hike.

Also the last row of eyelets (closest to your ankle) in conjunction with the tongue….????? The tongue is too short.Maybe my high arch takes up the slack?

Like I have stated,I run/hike trails as well as my particularly shoe requirements, you may think they're great. I wanted them to work but alas…nope!

Too high of a heel drop for me. 2-3 miles into a run and my forefoot just aches.

I tried on the 1210's the other day and they did seem a bit narrow.
And I don't have a wide foot. I want to love this shoe. I'll keep looking.
Thanks Tom
