I recently moved out to Maine from the West Coast and I'm spending most of my weekends out along the Appalachian Trail. I'm planning to be out near the southern portion of 100 Mile Wilderness this weekend and next weekend and probably future weekends as well. There are plenty of places to fish, although I haven't caught anything myself yet, and for the time being there are also plenty of other wild foods to be had for not much effort if that's of interest. I'm not new to hiking but I'm also no ultra-marathoner; I keep a reasonably steady if not fast pace when I'm not distracted by free wild food or fishing opportunities. I've spent most of my hiking life going solo but my long time hiking partner, with whom I did a month or so of hiking a year, has moved to Japan and so I figure it's time I try to find people to hike with.
I'm looking to start these weekend hikes early on Saturday morning or perhaps after working hours on Friday. I'd love to have some company. Willing to share a ride or to meet at trail head.
