So I found this little gem which is both on sale and also has a 25% off automatic coupon until 9/2. So i just bought a pair for about 17 dollars, not including 6.99 shipping.

What i find pretty cool about them besides the price is the fiber content. I contacted them for the specifics and it was 67% Merino wool, about 30% nylon, and about 3% spandex. This is a really nice combo, and I will tell you why. Nylon is stronger than polyester, and less stinky (probably because it's less extremely hydrophobic, though still basically hydrophobic). Spandex is also quite strong and well of course very elastic. With 67% Merino fiber and the rest primarily nylon, these will be great odor fighters.
These are like poor (wo)man's Rab Meco baselayer pants. Heck, per similar weight they may even be stronger and more durable. However, note they look pretty sheer so i wouldn't expect them to last too long.
Since i run hot, i like the thinness of these. Dunno, but i thought it was a pretty good find. Well for those of you less secure in your masculinity, just wear them under your pants and no one will have to know ;) Personally, i plan to wear them in conjunction with my kilts for cold weather, and with pants for our rare (and relatively) very cold weather (less than 20 degrees).
I was disheartened originally to find that this company no long sold the tough, primarily polygro footless tights that Ryan Jordan recommended some years back… but hey, least my nether regions will be much less stinky on any longer trips.
