Bump. I need to remember to preorder a filter, hoping it has all the bits and pieces. I'll look into when I get home for the weekend. Seems the new version is complete from what I had read a while back.

Chris, did a quick look during my extremely early lunch. The ends connect to tubing and maybe has a fitting built in to be able to screw onto water bottle/bladders?

Duane,

Just getting back from being out all weekend and getting caught up.

You are correct – the filter can be used a few different ways:
-You can use the included straw to drink directly from the water source
-You can connect it inline with your water bladder to filter while drinking
-You can use the included pouch (or any regular size bottle opening – plastic water bottle, soda bottles, etc) and screw it on to the container to drink from
-Squeeze water out of included bladder or other size Sawyer bladder (or Evener bladders) through the filter and into another container

I hope that answers your question/clears it up some. Let me know! I've only seen this demoed at the Outdoor Retailer trade show in August and have not had a chance to use one yet, but will do my best to answer with what I remember from the show.

Chris
