I want to get a pair of *very* light-weight trail shoes with leather/mesh uppers for my wide feet. Can anyone suggest some suitable brands? TIA njb

Daanner Boots makes many, many sizes. Their 452 and 453 boots are actually midweight, the 453 being 2.8 lbs.

Hi guys. Eric makes a good suggestion. I reviewed the Danner 230 XCR on this site, and found them to be essentially a low-cut boot. Very supportive and protective, but on the heavier side. The width is closer to an EE.

Why leather? Leather uppers and breathability/lightness are counterdictory.

New Balance is back producing outdoor shoes and has several new models coming out. Some have leather uppers, or synthetic leather materials. And of course they have wide sizes, up to 4E.

Best, Will
