Adding foam to shoulder straps?

I have both a REI FLASH 22 and MARMOT KOMPRESSOR daypacks.The Flash straps dig into your shoulders right away.The marmot is better however after a little time im sure it will be the same pain.
Is there a way to add padding to these straps?The marmot straps are about 45mm wide but are hollowed out in the middle and they placed mesh webbing there instead.So you are dealing with two 10mm strips to attach anything to.The flash strap is about 35mm wide and is solid except that it is perforated for bteatheability.

Any solutions/ideas?

The real problem with the Flash 18 and 22 packs isn't the shoulder straps, it's the virtually nonexistent hip-belt. Not much you can do to take the load off your shoulders there. Wider straps or more padding will just delay the inevitable.

I'd say you're barking up the wrong tree, trying to make the Flash 22 more comfortable. Load it up with normal gear and it's gonna cut you.

No experience with the Marmot.
