Why bear bag or bother with a heavy approved canister or expensive boutique option? All you need to do is pee on your food bag to deter critters, up to and including the notorious Ursus arctos horribilis.

Just hold a little for the food bag. You'll save time in camp by combining rituals.
Food bags make great pillows.
And a pillow that serves as a critter deterrent is all the better.
Bears don't like the smell of urine? Well I guess that explains why I've never seen any in DC.
Bears may leave it alone (or not) but you will attract a whole lot of other critters going after the salt.
