I have a lame 600 fill power jacket I want to get rid of for an 850 fill power jacket (save weight).

I haven't gotten rid of it yet because I bought a 900 FP jacket and it doesn't keep me warm enough.

What fill weight are you guys using for your jackets. I'll use that as a guide before I buy my next one.

I use a Mont-Bell Ex-Light. The MFG specs say it has 1.8oz of 900FP down for my size medium. Keep in mind that this doesn't have a hood.

I had Ben at GooseFeet make me a vest with 2oz of 900FP down and found that to be too warm and puffy for my needs. I went with a WM Flash vest instead.

Do you happen to know the fill weight of your 650fP jacket that worked well for you? You can just do a conversion to find out how much of the higher FP will be good for you.
