Came across this vest from Costco tonight. Seems like a good value for only $25. The material is nylon & looks/feels similar to m50. The smallest size it came in was a medium, and it feels like a large. I'm 5'10", 180 lbs, and the medium is too big for me. The one with my hands grabbing the sides shows that I can pull 2-3" of extra material on each side. You can see how much can be pulled in front too. Don't know if I'll keep it, but not a bad price/weight.

Great find Daniel! I'm going to run down to Costco tomorrow to pick one up.

Saw this at my local Costco too. They had them in black, blue, red, and olive green in sizes M-XXL. The label says 550 fill power and 90% down 10% feathers. I tried on the medium and I was swimming in it (5'10" 145lbs), I agree with Daniel it seemed more like a large.

Odd there is no small(er). Perhaps it was a blip in production and manager failed to notice the vest guy had been trained only to make 'big'. To salvage what they could, they relabeled some a size or two smaller. They decided it would be ridiculous to relabel one 'small' but felt they could get away with 'medium'.

Did you try other sizes; maybe they all fit the same…?

Mmm, for that mater, 'large' might be a bit tight ;^)

Good find, Daniel. Would buy one immediately save for the fit issue.

It's from Costco, so perhaps it's sized to fit the typical Costco shopper. It's called "complimentary" sizing, as in: "See Mabel? I told ya I was still just a medium!" Here in SoCal, I think the average Costco shopper is around 300 lbs, and a lot of them ride Rascals.

Rascal…

I had a rascal run me to ground a few days ago. I met the rascal at a corner. A person on foot wouldn't have continued to walk into me, right? This rascal kept coming while I walked backwards looking for a way out. The rascal did apologise the entire time it advanced. I would rather have traded the apology for a hesitation on the throttle.

They got their places. Using them like an umbrella to work through crowds isn't a good one. Anyway.

Check out the women's section. At the Costco where i live, they currently have women's goose down (i think) vests that have 700 f.p. for like 29 dollars.

You can get smaller size with better fill quality for about the same price, and they do have some less feminine colors.

Last year, they had the same brand women's down vests and the fill power was 740 instead of 700. Another change is that last years was 100% nylon and now it is about half poly and half nylon blend.

my costco in atl had it in a bunch of colors and i found a SMALL which fit like an athletic LARGE in my opinion (6'0 175).

it weighs 175 grams (6.17oz) with the tags cut off. impressive for $25.

I have one of these vests. I'm a big guy so it really worked out great for me; my vest is ~ 6oz. It's definitely a size or two larger than how they are marked.
