I bought a second hand first version with .5 cuben floor 190g/6.7oz measured weight including added shockcord on top, and velcros on bottom.

I didnt found it too small but a bit long to use under a trailstar so i added 3 pairs of velcro tape strips :

so i could reduce the bottom length by about 10-15cm / 4-6 inches when needed.

and so far after about a few dozen nights ( 2/3 on grass / 1/3 on rocks ) it is still as new.

it saved my sanity when i had so many ticks crawling on my trailstar that i couldnt count them during 2013 TGO.

Not certain what the bugs were but I believe it was more difficult to set up. At least that's what I remember reading. Also I believe the first one 'tied' into the Hexamid plus???? This one is staked out on it's own. Again I am going from memory. I just started checking them out. I need it for warmer/humid camping conditions (east coast summers). I am not fond of these types of camping conditions but lately seems it is all I do. Gotta get back to the west. I do know the he took it off the market for a bit when I started looking for it.

Yup, they are back! And mine should be here to me today… in just a few minutes actually! :)

There have been some changes made to it vs the original design, mainly the fact that this one will stake down on 4 corners rather than attach to the corners of the Hexamid. This will result in a tighter pitch and less mesh sag.

I actually received a prototype version a few weeks ago and posted a write up & video over on my blog. Check it out here if interested:

Also, keep in mind, the one in my write up & video is the prototype version. The one I am about to receive is the final product. I will try to get something up on it soon too…
