I'm looking for a wide pot that can boil 600mL-1L of water, which has a lid that doubles as a frying pan.

Extra points if the handle can be detached and used on either the pan or the pot.

I the wide base so that my wood stove has more surface area to heat up the water. And I want the frying pan so I can cook trout in it…

though now that I think about it having a non-stick surface on the pan would be nice.

The nearest to that, that I can think of, are a couple of sets from Snow Peak.
One is half of the Multi Compact (using the 23oz pot and 10oz fry pan) the other oddly enough it is the Hybrid Titanium silicone cookset.
You could remove the handles and use a pot grabber but you would not save all that much in weight.
Tip : keep those handles apart when cooking. They stay cool that way

in this department. I'd go with your regular pot sans lid or with an aluminum foil or carbon fiber lid. Then – if there's going to be trout – bring along a real pan. The MSR pan is around $6 at REI. It's 7 oz. but a reasonable weight penalty if your protein is waiting for you when you get to camp.

One solution: remove all handles and use pot grabber (0.8 oz):

Replacing a few handles you should break even, or make a weight profit. Having a pot grabber is also useful if you need to move windscreens like a caldera cone – for instance to snuff your alcohol stove to recover unspent fuel.

Remove the handles on the Montbell kit, for example, and bob's your uncle. If you are more aggressive about mods you can probably get the pot grabber weight down even more.

The pot grabber idea is definitely a good one and I miss having external handles. Regardless I should consider detaching the handle from my my and use a pot grabber.
