Does anybody own the Solo Plus groundsheet and Solo (not Plus) tent? Will it fit? I was thinking it might create a larger interior living space.

I would be worried about the groundsheet extending past the boundary of protection against rain. If rain starts hitting your groundsheet, it's just going to pool up and probably flow to the center.
Yes, works great. Provides extra rain protection when you need it, can be folded back for ventilation when you don't. It's how I use mine.
