i am 6' 6'' and am looking for a shelter for me and my girlfriend for thru hiking the JMT this summer. we would prefer a fully enclosed shelter: we hate bugs. does anybody have any experience with the double rainbow from tarptent? or could anyone suggest a better option?

Emily, I am a hair short of six feet tall, and my girlfriend (5'4") and I fit inside the Double Rainbow quite comfortably. I could see it working well for a taller person as the spare interior floor space is at either end. Also, I have not measured but it feels like there is a full foot of airspace above my head sitting up in the middle of the tent. I don't have a long-term report and someone may have a better suggestion, but in a bugproofness + weight + space equation in a "tent tent" it is a great choice.

Emily, I am just over 6'1'' and have plenty of room. I often store my clothes inside with me without problem. It is not palatial, but defintly works for two. My wife is 5'8'' and we fit well. I too bought this tent as a tradeoff between weight and bugproofness. My wife refuses to sleep under a tarp, and the original tarptent I made from henry's plans didn't have a floor. It is surprisinly sturdy, and has held up well in many night of northwest rain and wind.
