Just a quick note on http://www.antigravitygear.com being down.
Yesterday I emailed Trail Designs, makers of the Caldera Cone, to ask whether they'd sell me a cone directly since the AGG site was down.
Today I received a personal call (to Canada no less) from George Andrews who is the owner of AGG. We talked for about 10 minutes and here's what I found out:
-The AGG server was attacked by a spammer while George was on his once-a-year 5-day hike in New Mexico. (Murphy's law!) The compromised server proceeded to send out millions of spam before filling up its' own hard drive and crashing.
-AGG's brick-and-mortar store is still open, and George is still accepting orders via phone at 910-794-3308 or by email at tinman@antigravitygear.com — only the webstore is down.
-They're taking the opportunity to expedite their site redesign, rather than trying to resurrect the old site from the ashes. To this end, they site and web store will probably be down for another week or so.
-They're amazingly gracious and responsive businesspeople — I was floored that the owner of the business took the time to make a personal call to me (to sell one measly Caldera cone) while he's in the midst of an e-business crisis.
Hope this is useful to anyone who's been waiting or wondering about AGG's status.
Brian
