I'm going in Iceland in a week and had been planning on bringing a borah gear m50 bivy I just got to keep condensation off my bag under my duomid. However, in my first night of testing (admittedly in the worst conditions possible) condensation inside the bivy was a serious issue. I may still bring the bivy (pending further testing this week), but I think I'll probably just use my S2S nano bug net, and deal with the drips onto the bag. However, my RevX 20* quilt does not have amazing DWR. I wanted a regular Revelation, but Tim was out of the 15d fabric at the time of ordering..
If I hit the quilt with a good coat of ReviveX will this help to boost the DWR meaningfully? Or is factory applied DWR about as good as it will ever get? (even if that's not very good).. and could there be detrimental effects to doing this from the spray getting on the down in the bag?
