I have a 15 degree bag that I roast in when the weather is above freezing (including Desolation Wilderness trip last weekend where temps never got to freezing). So I got a sweet deal on a Stoic Somnus 30 degree bag on Gear Trade. I slept in it on Saturday night in 50 degree temps and loved it for my side sleeping style and 185 pounds. My question is how far you can push a 30 degree bag if wearing all of the following:

1. Short smartwool socks (over ankle just a bit)
2. Light North Face polyester bottoms (4.5 ozs)
3. Short sleeve t (4 ozs)
4. 1/4 zip North Face Light baselayer top (5.5 ozs)
5. Stoic hooded Hadron pullover (8.3 ozs)
6. Fleece Beanie (.75 ozs)

I bring these items for Sierra trips anyway, so I wouldn't have to bring any extra gear if these items are sufficient. I am hoping I would be moderately comfortable to 25 degrees or so. That would allow me to use this lighter bag for partial shoulder and summer trips in the Sierras. Does that sound reasonable? I consider myself a moderate to warm sleeper temp wise.

Thanks for the help!

Assuming that the stoic sleeping bag follows the industry trend of rating sleeping bags much lower than they should, your clothing selection should leave you toasty warm at 30 degrees. Sleeping bag ratings are often only accurate when wearing all of the clothing that an average backpacker would bring.
Switch the north face baselayer for a heavier fleece, thicker long underwear, thick wool socks, a heavier beanie, and wear your rain jacket and you could probably push it into the 20's.

I could be totally wrong on this, I'm just using my own personal experience with bags rated at 30 degrees

With the heat we've got going on now I'd say you'd be more than comfortable in Desolation with what you've got listed. Aside from that, these things are pretty subjective and you won't know until you try. I was pretty darn cold in a 20 degree bag with nearly all my cloths on when the wind chill dropped things close to freezing at the Minarets a few years back. Got about 4 hours sleep that night and was definitely wishing I'd brought another layer.
