Not quite another pencil thread, but curious as to whether anyone uses the general Tom Harrison High Country regional maps as opposed the specific JMT map pack. Heavier and more expensive, but I'm thinking potentially more useful for exploring the general area later.

I always use the front of the map, not the back.

Jun 28, 2013 at 9:57 am #2000515actually I own both, and cut the heck out of the 13 map JMT pack to save weight and also make sure they are worthless for any other trip besides the JMT.
