MLC Cricket Question

It needs two poles to setup unlike the hexamids. They are all pretty storm worthy, with one side down to the ground.

The Cricket's profile is closer to the Solomid and Duomid than the Trailstar, which is arguably the best at shedding strong winds. Some thought is required for site selection, and you may have to overcome the desire to pitch the door facing the best view. The Cricket is best pitched end-on to the prevailing winds, as the angle is much smaller – and presents much less surface area – than the back of the tarp.

The beak provides good coverage in the high pitch, and excellent coverage in the low pitch. Combined with the inner net with the endurance strip, very little precipitation will get in. It is quite breezy inside, though. The silnylon version is more flexible in pitching options than the cuben fiber version, according to Colin Ibbotson, who's used both extensively. His recommendation is to keep the latter for below treeline use, whereas the latter works well above treeline.
