The MadTree Core hammock

We just released our brand new ultralight Core hammock which works great for both, sleeping for the night and lounging for a while. You can check the specs of the Core at: http://www.madtree.fi

As a special offer during the launch of the Core, you can get the MadTree three point suspension kit for FREE! with the Core hammock by adding them both to your shopping cart in the MadTree Store and using the campaign code: launch during checkout. But you have to be quick because the code only works until Wednesday.

site works for me too

so its kinda like a bridge hammock but without the spreader bars? I wonder what kind of shoulder squeeze that would induce. It does look comfy though, I would definitely like a chance to lay in one. I'm sure the 3pt suspension would limit the number of hangable spots, but for ~240g it may even be worth bringing along as an extra, although you could make a gathered end for that weight as well.

Either way, it looks cool, and I really like the insulated one as well

Fourth time a charm. That is a unique design. My biggest turn off from the bridge hammocks are that they would be too cramped for my shoulders. It looks like you could spread the two ties by the head far enough apart to reduce this problem. As mentioned, finding three trees perfectly spaced may be tricky.

I'm sorry about the problems some of you have had with the website. It seems to be a network related problem and is most likely caused by the heavy traffic our site is getting right now due to the launch of the new hammock. Unfortunately there's not much we can do about that.

In our use, we've never had any problems finding three suitable trees for suspension of our hammock as the system is quite versatile regarding the positions of the trees. Even so our suspension system does support the use of a spreader bar and two points. Our Tarseer video demonstrates this in action here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HTRrbCyOOs&feature=player_embedded

Also, shoulder squeeze should not be a problem with our suspension as it's designed specifically to eliminate any squeeze even for someone with broad shoulders.

Hi,
We have asked our service provider to look into the problem so hopefully they can figure out what's causing this problem for some of our US based customers. To better understand the problem we would require your IP address. It's in the form of, for example: 123.123.1.12

The easiest way to get to know your IP on Windows is pressing the start button, writing: cmd to the search box, pressing enter, writing ipconfig to the command prompt that opens and the looking for the "ipv4 address" -line in the text it displays.

Unfortunately that is the only way we can obtain a clue as to what is causing the access problems.

In the meantime, as the problem is network related you can probably access our site via a proxy such as this:

http://www.uswebproxy.com/index.php?q=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5tYWR0cmVlLmZp&hl=3ed

However, please do not make any purchases or add any personal info to our store through the proxy as we can not guarantee its security.

I am in the US and can access the website and have been the entire time since you created this thread.

FYI, the CMD / ipconfig may list an internal IP address (if on a network) and will not assist you or your hosting company in finding the cause. Instead type "What is my ip" in a google search. It should return with a response at the top of the webpage with "Your public IP address is XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX."

Nice video. That's a pretty cool all-in-one package. For the Core hammock, is the cord that runs through the sides accessible/replaceable? Just curious if it is possible to integrate it with a different line-based suspension system like whoopie slings.

The internal structural cord isn't user changeable on either the Tarseer or the Core but that doesn't prevent you from using different suspension setups eg. whoopie slings. The Core doesn't come with suspension lines as standard and the ones in the Tarseer are similarly detachable. They both just have attachment point loops to witch you tie your desired suspension solution.

This image illustrates it pretty well on the Tarseer XL:

2 days for the "campaign" sale code seems very short to me, by any measure. I was strongly considering to order the core with free three point suspension kit at 70 USD, but with out the 100 USD is not as appealing to me.

speaking of costs the core shipping cost listed at 6.40 euro roughly 9 USD, is that what my US shipping would be or would it be different?

one other question as I browsed your site, I'm having a hard time seeing in my mind just how the bug net works that is offered on the tarseer. any photos or video? and is the bug net an option for the core?

thanks for your time. good day sir :)

The campaign was short, yes, but it was always meant to be just an extremely brief launch offer and not the regular price. Given the quality of our products and materials we use, we really can't sell them any cheaper than we do now. Our products are designed to be the best they can and unfortunately that comes at a price.

Having said that I wouldn't consider the core expensive as such. Keep in mind that unless you enter your location to our store it displays EU pricing by default which includes the Finnish 24% VAT. The US price of the 3 point kit+Core is actually 75.24 USD even without the offer (though some local taxes may apply). At that price you get one of the comfiest and lightest hammocks around which is also really durable due to our own 53g/m2 Ripstop Nylon and the high quality Dyneema suspension.

I can't recall the US shipping price exactly but it's significantly more than 6.40 EUR. The Store does calculate all the prices automatically for you if you add the products to your cart, proceed to checkout and enter your location for it.

This image should illustrate the use of the Tarseer bugnet quite well:
Tarseer and bugnet

This is the bugnet with our rae tarp:
MadTree Tarseer+rae

And if you don't need the bugnet you can let it hang to the sides like this:
MadTree Tarseer winter

The bugnet has two loops on the center zipper, one close to the head end and other closer to the feet, and comes with a long elastic cord attached to the head end loop which you can use to suspend the net. The cord has a small hook at its end for easy operation. Hopefully the images clear it up :)

The Core hammock isn't currently available with the bug net and there are currently no plans to make a bug netted version of it. However we do make custom versions of our products on order ;).

Who has a Tarseer with bugnet option and want to sell it to me ?
I’ve tried to get in contact with MadTree with no luck.
