Have been struggling to find a pair of shorts suitable for my needs. Perhaps you had also been looking for the same thing and managed to find it ;).
Looking for something very vaguely like these in appearance, but with a liner. Absolutely light as possible, quick drying, with liner, with a couple of pockets, which look like you average khaki hiking shorts. They would be used for travel, hiking, swimming, underwear. Any advice or suggestions would be great.

Nice guide, thanks for the link. Added to my list of projects – probably get round to it sometime next year ;). I always find hiking pants a bit baggy so that's a great solution. Never occurred to me to make my own pants before for some reason.
There's also a link to Roger's article. He has some slightly different techniques so you can pick and choose. But I suggest you don't pick Roger's color. Might be good for visibility though.
