A while back I had settled on the tarptent notch, but I couldn't find any reviews or info from tall dudes like my self. Just throwing up a post for the sake of future tall Notch-seekers. I talked to Henry, he said I should be just fine at 6'5". I was skeptical, but shouldn't have doubted the man. Notch came yesterday, I set it up in the yard and I can definitively say that a 6'5" dude with size 14 hooves can fit just fine without touching anything that might have condensation or putting tension on any fabric. The 84" length is deceptive. The end walls and the bathtub floor lean outward, making every last inch usable. Chalk up a win for Team Tall.

I'm really stoked on the tent overall, excellent design.

Good info. I had written that one off as being too short.

To illustrate, see how the ends of the inner angle away to allow feet to naturally extend when you're in lying position:

Old thread, but thanks for this. I am 6' 5" and I want the Notch very badly, but I was worried about space.

Thanks!

Another resurrection of this oldish thread to ask one more question of the tall guys with a Notch:

I'm 6'5" and a very active side sleeper. Will my knees/feet run into the sidewalls when I flop from one side to the other in the fetal position?

I also am a flip-flopper, and it hasn't been a problem for me, it's pretty wide in the middle.

"Will my knees/feet run into the sidewalls when I flop from one side to the other in the fetal position?"
You could test that against what you use now. The two poles are 34" apart.

Thanks, Ozzy, that's what I needed to hear. We'll see now whether I can swing an upgrade anytime soon. (I'm in a palatial Rainbow now, and love it, but my eyes are wandering to double doors and dripless entry.)

Well, I'm "vertically challenged" so no height issues, but I am very happy with the Notch thus far. I purchased both the solid wall and screen versions and will be using the solid wall in a few weeks.
