So I am looking for more non-traditional insulative means for warmer, 60F+, temps that don't include high lofting insulation like down or synthetics like Primaloft for when I sleep. I can always wear my windshirt, rain gear, etc., and things like AMK heetsheets. I tried the AMK Sport Utility blanket but it didn't really do anything more than the heetsheets and it seems I am too big for the bivies they make at 6'5". Are there other suggestions out there?
I've gotten by with one of Sea to Summit's bag liners on top of a pad plenty of times. Around me, the summer days have lows in the 70's and even the liner bags can be a little warm.
I'd go with a silk liner/sheet in warm temperatures. In Scouts I would just take a cotton bed sheet for summer camp (August in Missouri, temps only get down to 70 or so). The silk would be lighter than cotton and feel even better on your skin. When its that warm the only thing I need a cover for is to keep the bugs off!
