Any feedback on these trail runners?

I'm on my 3rd pair of the Mesa Ventalator II's and love them. The first pair I had, were supposed to be my 'camp shoes' at Philmont last year. They became my primary hiking shoes when my (un-named expensive backpacking boots) suddenly split across the middle of one sole, a very strange hiking experience. I wore the MV II's for the remaining 2/3 of the trip (about 50 miles), and was very satisfied. Very light weight, they dry fast, very comfortable, no ankle twisting, and they felt very stable. Those wore out, I bought a second pair, still have those. I wanted to try the Mid Height MVII's. The slightly higher heel on these are very comfortable, and only a few ounces more weight.

They didn't really need a break-in period. I just dropped in the gel soles, and took off.

I feel I could do Philmont or most any other 1-2 week hike again with these and do just fine.

I never thought about it until this post, but I think I have too many shoes….

my husband has the men's and really likes them. no break-in necessary. i had a pair of the original Mesa Ventilators and i really wanted them to work for me but my feet are just too narrow and thin and i would have had to stuff them with insoles. i am a big fan of Merrell and have always been really pleased with their shoes (well, the ones that fit me, anyway).

Ah, I am lucky there, I suppose. My feet and heel are a bit wider. I was shocked though at how comfy these shoes were!
Can't wait to hit dirt in them :-D
