I’m going to purchase either a TarpTent Double Rainbow or a SMD Lunar Duo for myself (68 inches) and my son (48 inches) and daughter (31 inches). I’ve looked at the sleeping area dimensions for both (54×104 and 54 x 90, respectively). I prefer the side entry and double vestibules over a front entry such as with the TarpTent Rainshadow2.
So my question for you is 1) do you think that my daughter could sleep across the width of either tent at the head section of my son and I (at the opposite side of the entry doors)? and 2) would you be concerned about her touching/sleeping against the tarp in either tents?
While the Double Rainbow is longer (giving her more width to sleep) the suspended mesh that drops to floor is not as high on the inside of the tarp compared to the Lunar Duo, so it appears her sleeping against the tarp would be less of a problem in the Lunar Duo.
