So my gf and I picked up a pair of used Jetboils sols for dirt cheap. All the plastic bits on mine were broken except the lid which was fine by me. My gf's was ambiguously "not working" but we figured for the price it was still cheaper than buying a HX sol cup by itself, so worth the gamble.

Turns out here stove unit had the bottom threads stripped. The threads looked like the same design as the recall model but with out some of the specific iteration identifiers so was technically not eligible for the recall (at least based off the site's criteria).

Anyway we put it through the warranty process figuring it was worth a shot and the cost of shipping was minimal for us. A few weeks later we now have a brand new jetboil stove unit and two working systems!

I just wanted to post this since I know when the Sol Titanium came out Jetboil had some customer service "issues" that the community was none to pleased about. So maybe my experience was a lucky fluke or maybe they revamped their customer service department, but either way they've secured my word of mouth praise until I experience differently.

Well shame on me and my glass half empty!
I was just about to let some frustration out on Jetboil. But after the SMD FIASCO I decided against it.

Contacted Jetboil over 10 days ago. Got response back -Contact Warranty Dept. I did explained that my plastic wind screen on my JB Flash melted down and needed new whether it was warranty or paid by me. Over a week, no response back nothing not a peep.
I read this post and get a bit Hot! Cooled down! No public crucifixion-

Wife just called 5 minutes ago and guess what was in the mailbox? Plastic windscreen!

THANKS JETBOIL FOR A GREAT WARRANTY PROGRAM!

P.S send us emails letting us know parts are on the way!

Good for Jetboil

As a counter-example of good customer service, the back cover on my Garmin GPS broke. I think it's a defective design but that's subjective. I called them and they wanted $30 for a new cover. Phewy on that, I used epoxy, nail, and aluminum strip to make something that works fine. Now, occasionally I find opportunity to blast Garmin customer service : )

One of the clips on the plastic tripod that attaches to the bottom of the fuel canister to add stability broke off while I was on the Ozark Trail earlier this year.

To be fair, I was out in sleeting weather, so about 30-40 degrees and it got brittle and I was not being very gentle (was hurting for a cup of hot coffee).

I shot them an email to customer service and got a very professional response back early the next morning. It stated that it was no problem and that I would receive a new one, at no charge, under warranty.

Sure enough, two days later, I had one in my mailbox.

Top notch service. Especially compared to what I have experienced from some of my other gear manufacturers.
